Come Worship With Us
Contemporary Worship Service
CATALYST
Coming 8.22.10
If you seek contemporary worship in a relaxed environment,
join us at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings for our "Catalyst" service.
Catalyst is held in the Christian Life Center - you can find us by
heading towards the right wing of the church building. There you will
find a welcoming cafe area, dynamic contemporary worship and many
opportunities to get
involved in our
church family.
The dictionary defines catalyst as "an agent for change." We named our
contemporary service Catalyst because we believe we can have a powerful
impact on our community through God's love.
When you arrive at the Christian Life Center, feel free to enjoy food
and a warm cup of coffee at the Sacred Grounds Cafe. Or head over to
our welcome booth to find more information about our church and
ministry opportunities. We look forward to worshipping with you at
Catalyst.
What Is A Worship Leader?
Every Sunday morning, I have the joy of leading contemporary
worship
in the CLC. Much preparation goes into every worship service--chord
charts, slides, practices, sound checks, etc.--but being a worship
leader is about
far
more than just the "technical." As a worship leader, my ultimate
calling is to magnify the greatness of God. As Bob Kauflin writes in
his book "Worship Matters," worship has the power to change our vision.
To the naked eye, stars are mere speaks in the sky. But looking through
a telescope, we can see the true vastness of the heavens. Every Sunday,
I want to hand you the telescope. My prayer is that you will look
beyond the worship team, past the worries and cares of daily life--and
focus directly on our incredible God.
So when the
music begins on Sunday, leave everything behind. Allow yourself to
meditate on God's splendor and majesty with no distractions. David's
call to worship in Psalm 34:3 expresses my heart as a worship leader:
"Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together!"
Worship leaders are simply vessels--crafted to help others connect to
God's greatness. Glory be to Him alone!
